Herbal Steam Facials
What’s and herbal steam facial?
We carefully choose herbs and flowers to create a blend for different skin types. An herbal steam facial of warm, soothing steam does more than instantly relax your body and mind. Steaming your face also:
Boosts circulation. Exposure to warm steam increases perspiration, helping your skin’s blood vessels to dilate, which improves blood flow. Hydrates and oxygenates your skin. Moist heat revives dry, tired-looking skin thanks in part to that fresh, oxygenated blood. Loosens debris and unclogs pores. Warm steam softens the skin’s surface, which makes it easier for bacteria and dirt to exit pores. Promotes a healthy glow. That boost in circulation beneath the skin, combined with a blast of hydration to the surface, will help you look refreshed. Calms your nerves with herbal aromas. When you add herbs and essential oils to your facial steam, it works as aromatherapy to help soothe your mind and body.
Directions for a steam facial: Bring water to boiling either in a tea kettle, on the stove, or in the microwave. Place the desired amount of your herbal steam facial blend into a bowl and pour the hot water over the herbal blend. Try not to fill the bowl more than halfway as it makes moving the bowl more difficult without spilling once you are done. Once you’ve poured the hot water over the herbs, place your face about the bowl and cover head and bowl with a towel to keep the steam in. Stay like this under the towel for about 5 minutes.
Steam Facial Blend No. 1: Herbal Floral Blend (dried): calendula, lavender, rose bud, lemon balm, rosemary, peppermint, orange peel, lemon peel; Essential oil(s): eucalyptus.
